They are able to work in teams practicing leadership, organization, negotiation, and cooperation as they compete for the top spot. Students build a portfolio by researching and evaluating stocks and then make decisions on what they have learned. They are able to trade stocks and mutual funds from NYSE, Nasdaq and AMEX exchanges. Critical thinking, decision-making, cooperation, communication, research, saving and investing are all skills and concepts that learned and reinforced in the stock market game. I think that this game would be excellent for high school students especially those students that are in an economics class.
