www.weallusematheveryday.com

This is a math-teacher resource created by Texas Instruments. The website offers a variety of specific lesson plans and worksheets for students of grades 7-12. The lesson plans are based on the tv show Numb3rs. This is sort of a math/CSI show, where an FBI agent contracts his mathematician brother to help him solve crimes. The website provides links to each season. Once you select a season, you are taken to a list of each episode. Under each episode there is a link to a couple of different lesson plans that have been created about the mathematics in episode. Each lesson is organized by topic. These serve as great, "sub plan" activites. I often use these lessons and activity sheets when I know I am going to be absent. I will have my students watch the show in class, and give them the worksheet based on the episode to finish for the next day. The best part of the website is the fact that everything is available in pdf form to simply print and copy for your students.
